Is the MyPyramid.gov Wellness Challenge for me?
Have you been thinking about making some changes
in your lifestyle? Maybe your doctor, your spouse, or a friend has suggested
you could take better care of yourself. You probably know what to do to be
healthy, but knowing what to do is not the same as knowing how to do it
successfully. Many people don’t know how to get started on a program to
improve their health. Now there is a program to help you acquire and practice
the lifestyle skills you already know are important. This will help you go
beyond knowing to doing.

8.
Will MyPyramid.gov Wellness Challenge work for me?
When it comes to health, weight, and fitness, most
people make the mistake of looking for a “quick fix.” Let us assure you, there
is no quick fix. MyPyramid.gov is for people who are seeking long-term
solutions to their health and lifestyle concerns. MyPyramid.gov incorporates
and promotes these key factors to help ensure your long-term success. Internal
motivation – You must attempt a change because you want to – not because
someone else says you should. Readiness – If you are just starting to think
about making a change, your needs are different from someone who is ready to
take action. We don’t force changes that you’re not ready to make. Realistic
goal setting – Many people are unsuccessful because their goals are
unrealistic. You will set realistic goals based on the intensity and
involvement you desire. Small slips are sure to happen. We view them as
opportunities to learn and move forward.
9. What
will happen if I miss the monthly meetings?
You may submit your points to the Human Resources
Office prior to the day of the meeting if you want to be considered for the
incentives.
