Digital Arts not only prepares you for jobs in the gaming industry but various other creative fields. Here, you will get to practice your art and develop the skills needed to excel in dynamic industries. You'll gain expertise in graphic design, web design, 3D computer animation, video game development, augmented reality and virtual reality, digital photography, digital video, audio recording and production, and electronic music and sound design.
For the third year in a row, Stetson has been named among the country's Top 50 programs for Game Design in 2024.

At Stetson, you'll benefit from small class sizes that allow you to work closely with accomplished faculty on projects that build your portfolio and prepare you for a career in video games, animation, graphic design, sound design, and more. You'll receive valuable feedback from peers and faculty, and learn to market your aesthetic decisions through written summaries and oral presentations.
Our program lets you hone your skills across various areas, fostering important collaborations in the arts. You'll start with foundational coursework to build basic skills and knowledge, then choose two areas to specialize in. During your senior year, you'll showcase your talents through a capstone project, the culmination of your academic experience.

Career Outcomes
A degree in Digital Arts from Stetson prepares you for various careers with strong employment prospects. Special effects artists and animators are expected to see 16% job growth through 2030, with a median annual wage of $78,790, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Broadcast, sound and video technicians are projected to experience 21% growth, with a median annual salary of $49,050. Graphic designers are expected to see 3% job growth, earning a median annual wage of $50,710.

Our Digital Arts curriculum combines visual art and audio/music technology, allowing you to explore the inter-relationships among various media. You'll complete original creative projects, gaining hands-on experience with diverse hardware and software tools. Your studies will culminate in a senior thesis exhibition, showcasing your work in a group exhibit.
