About the Community School From its beginning in 1985, the Community School has provided high quality music and dance instruction to the residents of Central Florida. The Community School of the Arts is a member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts. Instruction includes:
*Lessons in all orchestral and band instruments,
voice, piano & guitar.
Lessons are taught year round and begin in late August/early September for fall; late January for the spring semester and in June for the summer session. Registration forms can be picked up from rack on the right side of the music building (Presser Hall) and are also available on line. All lessons are taught in Presser Hall. The Mission of the Community School is to foster a love of music and dance by providing high quality instruction with a commitment to excellence and accessibility, regardless of age, race, or financial status. Each semester, the Community School serves more than 400 people throughout Central Florida. The faculty of approximately 35 includes university professors, practicing artists, experienced teachers and university students.
Drawing on the resources of the Stetson School of Music faculty, students and
facilities, the Community School of the Arts invites
all individuals to participate, explore, and enjoy the many learning and
listening opportunities at Stetson University.
