Need-based grants are considered "free money" to help reduce your educational costs. While we've listed some grant opportunities below, remember that many more are available from other sources. It's a good idea to search online for additional grants and apply to those for which you qualify.

Undergraduate Student Grants

The Effective Access to Student Education (EASE) Grant provides tuition assistance to Florida resident undergraduate students attending an eligible private, non-profit Florida college or university.

The Federal Pell Grant program gives money to help students with low income for college. How much you get depends on a few things: your family's financial situation (which is figured out when you fill out the FAFSA), how much your school costs, whether you’re a full-time or part-time student, and how long you attend college during the year.

Federal Pell Grant

The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) is a need-based grant that can help you cover the cost of college. To qualify for this grant, you’ll need to show that you have financial need.

FSEOG Grant

The Florida Student Assistance Grant is a need-based program available to Florida residents who are pursuing a college degree. If you're a high school student planning to attend a participating college or university and have significant financial need, this grant could help cover some of your costs.

FSAG Grant

The Federal Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant can give you up to $4,000 per year if you plan to earn a degree to become a teacher. To receive the grant, you'll need to teach in a high-need field at an elementary, secondary, or educational service agency that serves students from low-income families. You'll also be required to teach for at least four full academic years within eight years of finishing or leaving your degree program.

Steps to apply for the TEACH Grant:

  1. Complete the FAFSA
  2. Complete the Stetson University TEACH Grant Application
  3. Complete the TEACH Grant Program Requirements (Initial Counseling and the Agreement to Serve or Repay)
