Hatter Cribs Room Decorating Contest

To enter the Hatter Cribs Room Decorating Contest, start by decorating your room and making it your own! Once you’ve created your perfect space, take at least four photos that show off your room from different angles. Then, simply complete the and upload your photos to submit your entry.

If you'd also like to enter the contest for Best Tour Room Video, record a video tour highlighting your favorite features of your room and use the same entry form to upload it.

The deadline to submit your entry is November 1 at 11:59 p.m., so be sure to get your photos and videos in before then!

There are four exciting awards up for grabs in the Hatter Cribs contest!

• The Grand Prize is the People’s Choice Award, where Residential Living & Learning staff will select the top 10 entries to be featured on our Instagram page. The room post with the most likes will win, and the winner will receive up to $150.00 in prizes.
• For those showcasing their Stetson pride, the School Spirit Award goes to the student with the best Stetson University-themed room, showcasing academics, athletics, clubs, organizations, history, etc. The Division of Campus Life and Student Success will vote on the most spirited room, and the winner will take home up to $50.00 in prizes along with some great Stetson swag!
• The Director’s Choice Award is personally selected by our Executive Director, Jessica Day. All entries are eligible for this award, and the winner will receive up to $50.00 in prizes.
• The Best Tour Room Video Award is for the best video showcasing a decorated room on campus. The Stetson Marketing Team will decide the winner, who will also have the opportunity to be featured in a professional tour room video created by the team and showcased on the Stetson website. The winner will receive up to $50.00 in prizes.

You can submit entries for both the room decorating and tour room video awards!

When creating your Tour Room Video, please keep in mind these requirements:

• Videos should be no longer than 2 minutes
• Your video must include your first name (or names if entering with your roommate)
• Your video must include the name of your residential building
• An explanation of your decorating theme or vibe
• At least one thing you love about living in your building or living on campus

Feel free to showcase other fun or interesting aspects of your room, as well!

For your privacy, do not mention your exact room number or reveal any other personal information in the video. Please note that any violations of Residential Living & learning and/or University policies will result in disqualification from the contest.

You have the option to enter the contest either by yourself or with your roommate, for those living in shared bedrooms. If you're entering as a team, make sure to let us know on the entry form and include your roommate's name and contact information. Please note that only one entry per room will be accepted, and if you win, any prizes will be shared between you and your roommate.

The student who submitted the entry form can request to receive a confirmation email to their Stetson email account when filling out the entry form. If you don’t see it shortly after submitting your entry, please check your spam for the email.

Judges and Voting

Your photos will be considered for the People's Choice Award, the Director's Choice Award, and the School Spirit Award. All video entries will be eligible to win the Best Tour Room Video. 

• People's Choice Award
  Residential Living & Learning staff will select the top five (5) rooms from all entries.  These five rooms will be posted on our @stetsonu.rll Instagram page from November 6th through November 13th. The room with the most likes will win the award.

  Residential Living & Learning's Executive Director, Jessica Day, will select her favorite room from all entries.  
  
  
• School Spirit Award
  Stetson University's Division of Campus Life and Student Success will vote for their favorite room from all entries. The room with the most votes will win the Spirit Award. 
  
  
• Best Tour Room Video
  Stetson University's Marketing Team will review all video entries to select the best tour room video. The winner(s) will be contacted to participate in the creation of an official tour room video created by the Marketing Team!

Announcing the Winners and Prizes

Winners of all awards will be announced on November 15th on our @stetsonu.rll Instagram page. Winners will also be contacted via stetson email to collect their award and prizes! Prizes will be available for pick up at Residential Living & Learning at University Hall Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
