Environmental Law Programming

Stetson's Institute for Biodiversity Law and Policy serves as an interdisciplinary focal point for education, legal and policy research, and service activities related to local, regional, and global biodiversity issues.

The Jacobs Public Interest Law Clinic for Democracy and the Environment provides a much-needed public service of pro bono legal aid while affording Stetson’s law students opportunities to represent underserved clients with hands-on case management and the development of the advocacy skills necessary to be successful attorneys.

The Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition (IEMCC) is the world's largest moot court competition devoted exclusively to global environmental issues. Founded in 1996, the competition includes regional and national rounds in Africa, Brazil, Colombia, India, Ireland, Mexico, the Republic of Korea, the Philippines, and the United States, with the top teams advancing to the International Finals hosted at Stetson Law each spring.

The certificate of concentration recognizes law graduates demonstrating a high degree of ethics and competence in the field of environmental law and prepares students for practice through required and elective coursework and mentoring from experienced environmental law faculty.
