Museum and Curatorial Studies
The Museum and Curatorial Studies Program is designed to provide students with a foundation in contemporary art and visual culture, along with a comprehensive understanding of museum practices and curatorial methodologies.
Why Museum and Curatorial Studies at Stetson University?
Our program stands out for its emphasis on practical experience. Students acquire valuable hands-on skills through small classes, faculty mentoring, and internship opportunities at museums such as Stetson’s Gillespie Museum and the DeLand Museum of Art. Additionally, students in our program have the unique opportunity of learning about and engaging with the Hand Art Center, home to Stetson’s Permanent Collection of Art and the extensive Vera Bluemner Kouba of works by Oscar Bluemner. The Museum and Curatorial Studies Program is also home to our minor in Art History.

"Stetson was the right decision for me. Because of the small class size and interactions with professors, you really learn how to be able to think critically and present your ideas, no matter what you do with the rest of your life those are foundational skills"
Holly Keris, ’97 Chief Curator at the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens
