Values Day
What if one day could change how you see yourself, your community, and your place in the world?
That's the promise of Values Day — Stetson's annual tradition of pausing the ordinary to make room for something extraordinary. Every fall, classes stop and offices close so that every student, faculty member, staff member, and community guest can spend a full day together doing what Stetson does best: asking hard questions, having honest conversations, and turning shared values into shared action.
From the morning's Opening Ceremony to the evening film screening, Values Day is designed to be experienced in full. This year's theme — America's 250th Birthday: What values will shape the next 250 years? — means the conversations, workshops, performances, and programs you'll find throughout the day are some of the most timely and meaningful we've ever offered.

Learn More About Values Day
Values Day is an annual tradition established by Stetson University's eighth president, H. Douglas Lee, and is dedicated to examining our university's core values: intellectual exploration, inclusive community, human dignity and personal growth.
Frequently Asked Questions
Students can obtain up to six (6) Cultural Credits through participation in Values Day programs. The following programs have each been approved for Cultural Credit:
- Opening Ceremony
- Concurrent Sessions #1
- Deliberative Dialogue
- Concurrent Sessions #2
- Values through Film
- Values through Song
To receive Cultural Credit, students must complete the Cultural Credit request form available via QR code and link in each session. You MUST be present to receive the request form.
To allow the entire Stetson University community to attend, the university cancels classes and closes offices, with the exception of evening graduate classes.
