Eligibility for Cayman Islands
The program is open to law students, lawyers, and business professionals interested in studying in the Cayman Islands. Law students and lawyers should have an active interest in international, Caribbean, or business law to make the most of this academic experience.
All students must have successfully completed one academic year and be in good academic standing to be eligible for study abroad. All non-Stetson students must submit an official law school transcript and a letter of good standing to Stetson's Office of International Programs. Enrollment will be limited to twenty (20) students, and it is estimated that twenty (20) students will enroll.
Foreign Law Students are Also Welcome to Participate
Law students from foreign law schools are also eligible and invited to enroll in the program. We anticipate that around 2-3 foreign law students may participate in the program. It is anticipated that these students will be from Caribbean law schools in the Cayman Islands, the Bahamas, and Jamaica.
Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities
Applicants with disabilities or other special needs should contact the Stetson University College of Law Associate Dean of Academics Office in advance to discuss arrangements. Stetson will make every effort to reasonably accommodate the special needs of applicants.
If you have received approval for accommodations at Stetson, then you will continue to receive accommodations overseas. However, students with physical disabilities should consider that international universities and non-U.S. cities may not be equipped to accommodate all individuals in the same manner that might be expected in the U.S.
Students Participating in 2023-24
In 2023-24, twenty (20) students attended the program. Sixteen (16) of these students were from Stetson University College of Law, the sponsor of the program, and four (4) students were from other ABA-approved law schools.
